Each Waqf Unit represents a contribution of R1,600 (South African Rands, approximately $100 USD) to the GAIS Waqf Fund — a perpetual endowment supporting Islamic education worldwide. Unlike ordinary charity, the capital is never spent; only the income it generates is used, so a single contribution keeps working for as long as the Waqf endures.
There is no upper limit. Purchase any number of Waqf Units — individually, as a family, on behalf of a deceased relative, or on behalf of your school or institution.
What you receive
- A permanent entry in the official GAIS Waqf Register
- A Single Digital Waqf Certificate reflecting your total contribution
- Your unique Waqf Register number and date of issue
- Signed by Zaffar Ahmed, President, GAIS
