To improve communities through Islamic education.
Global Association of Islamic Schools (GAIS) envisions a world where Islamic schools positively impact their communities by serving as beacons of excellence.
We empower Islamic Schools to pursue excellence by providing global networking and collaboration opportunities to access thought leadership, good practices and research.
Inspired by the World Conference on Muslim Education in Makkah in 1977, the Global Association of Islamic Schools (GAIS) was born, instilling a shared vision of unity and excellence in Islamic education. On 22 November 2021, Br. Zaffar Ahmed reached out to nine Islamic School Associations across the world, igniting a conversation that resonated deeply within the hearts of educators and leaders committed to serving the Ummah.
The overwhelming response to this initial gathering was a testament to the collective longing for collaboration, shared purpose, and renewal. From this spirit of unity, a working group and steering committee were formed, marking the beginning of a transformative journey; one that seeks to bring together Islamic schools, organisations, and educators under the banner of faith, knowledge, and global solidarity.
With a growing network of hundreds of members across the world, we cultivate meaningful connections, foster collaboration, and inspire innovation to strengthen and advance Islamic education on a global scale. Through shared knowledge, resources, and a collective commitment to excellence, we aim to create a lasting impact that empowers educators, enriches learning experiences, and nurtures future generations.
